These protein packed waffles have about 35 grams of protein so they keep you feeling full and satisfied all morning. Plus, you can load them up with your favorite fruit toppings- chocolate chips are also a great option! I really love using Birch Benders mixes- they have so many options for any dietary preferences. The waffle maker I use is from Target and was around $10- totally worth it!! It's pretty small too so it doesn't take up much room.
For the protein powders, I suggest using a vanilla protein (I opt for vegan choices) and collagen powder (I use Marine based). Using both sources gives you that big protein boost!
Ingredients:
Birch Benders mix of choice
Vanilla protein powder
Collagen powder
Cinnamon
Vanilla extract
Avocado oil
Fruit for topping
To make:
Start waffle maker to heat up.
Combine 3/4 cup mix, a scoop of vanilla protein powder, collagen, and a teaspoon of cinnamon.
Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of avocado oil.
Start with 2/3 cup of almond milk and add more as needed. Adding protein powder can make the batter a little thicker so add more slowly.
Coat the waffle maker with coconut/avocado oil. Then, pour in the batter slowly to allow it to spread out evenly.
Close waffle maker and let cook. This will depend on your waffle maker but you want them a nice golden brown color.
Top with your favorite fruit and enjoy!
