YUM! Adding the seared tuna really spices up a salad to make it more filling and satisfying! Searing tuna is so fast you can make this whole salad in about 10 minutes. You could definitely sear the tuna in advance and refrigerate it so it is cold!
Ingredients:
Salad:
Mixed greens
Cucumber
Avocado
Tomatoes (could also sub shredded carrots)
Dressing:
1 tablespoon Mayo
1/2 teaspoon Wasabi
1 teaspoon Ginger
2 tablespoons Sesame oil
Tuna
1 3-5 oz filet of tuna
Sesame oil
Sesame seeds
Wasabi
Directions
Heat a skillet over medium-high and let it get hot.
Prep the tuna- rub the wasabi all over the filet (I promise cooking it takes away all the kick!!) then add sesame seeds to all sides of the filet.
Add about a tablespoon of sesame oil to the hot skillet and sear first side of fish. It only needs a FEW minutes!!
Keeping your eye on the filet, start to make the dressing. Combine all ingredients and mix- add more sesame oil as needed to thin it out to your preference.
Flip the filet! You should see the edge start to whiten and that is how you know it is ready to flip.
Assemble the salad!
When the other side of tuna is done, remove from heat and cut into slices.
Add tuna and dressing to salad, enjoy!!
